Position Summary: Under minimal direction and supervision, the Municipal Court Clerk performs a variety of independent clerical work and customer service duties in support of the Municipal Court operations. Assists the Prosecutor and Municipal Judge with all aspects of court functions with other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range: $26.04-$31.25/hr, The maximum pay for this position is $36.45

Key Responsibilities: The Municipal Court Clerk performs diverse clerical tasks, maintains court records, and supports court operations. Responsibilities include answering phones, filing, data entry, preparing court dockets, updating records, managing finances, processing citations and payments, scheduling, courtroom preparation, collaborating with the prosecutor, monitoring case files, and interacting with stakeholders among other tasks.

What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, excel in collaboration and conflict resolution, demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines, exhibit good judgment and professionalism, showcase thoroughness and strong organizational skills, maintain flexibility, prioritize excellent customer service, demonstrate personal effectiveness and credibility, and possess financial aptitude.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of related court or administrative support experience
  • Education, CCIC clearance or ability to apply and receive clearance, and legal and/or court environment preferred but will train the right candidate.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Spanish speaking skills helpful but not required.

Position Type: This is a part-time position (.50 FTE) averaging 20 – 28 hours weekly. Normal days and hours of work are flexible, required to commit to 7 hours at Town Hall on the first and third Wednesday Monthly for Municipal Court.  Once trained, there is the ability to work from home.
