Salary: Pay: $40/hour. The Program Manager position is an average of 15 hours per week with variable busy times throughout the year. The Program Manager will report directly to the Executive Committee of Guardian Scholars.

The Program Manager (PM) is a part time position in Eagle County, Colorado. The Program Manager will:

Manage the application and interview process of scholarship applicants, based on the recommendations of potential Guardian Scholar candidates provided by My Future Pathways team.  My Future Pathways will screen candidates from Eagle County High Schools.
 
Manage and meet with potential Guardian Scholars candidates in December and January to access applicant’s viability. The PM will ensure that candidates have completed their scholarship application and all required attachments.
 
Recommend to the Guardian Scholars interview team a final slate of candidates and prepare interview material of each candidate. 
 
Meet with each new Guardian Scholar and parents detailing the scope of the scholarship, the Responsibility Statement, the process to select classes, dorm, and other required steps to be prepared for the start of Fall classes at Colorado Mesa University.
 
Meet with the Scholarship Success Team at Colorado Mesa University (CMU) bimonthly, and other times as needed to ensure the CMU Scholarship Success Team is fulfilling all the requirements in the Guardian Scholars Operational Handbook, and that all financial, GPA, accumulated credits, graduation date, financial contingent liability, and career planning information is being executed, according to the agreement between Guardian Scholars and CMU.
 
Manage the annual calendar for board meetings, back to school and holiday functions, plus any other small social gatherings in Eagle County during the year. This will include sending invitations and managing the process of the event, it’s venue and catering when needed.
 
Visit CMU as needed for any special situations that arise as well as any of the Guardian Scholar events that the CMU Scholarship Success Team organizes create a ‘family’ community of Guardian Scholars on campus.
 
Work with the Guardian Scholars Executive Committee to update the website and collateral material.
 
Oversee the process with Guardian Scholars and alumni to produce the Annual Guardian Scholar Booklet distributed each August.
 
Establish a relationship which each Guardian Scholar to understand their individual challenges, needs and special situations and be the conduit between Guardian Scholars and the CMU Scholarship Success Team to assist in resources and referrals as needed.
 
Work with the Guardian Scholar board of directors and community members to facilitate the identification of internships and career planning for Guardian Scholars.
 
Work with Guardian Scholar board of directors to facilitate a robust Guardian Scholars Alumni involvement.

 
Program Manager Qualifications
·      Experience in youth program support, teen guidance/mentorship, or equivalent experience with the local community.
·      A high degree of personal integrity and passion for the Guardian Scholars approach to creating life-changing pathways for underserved Eagle County youth.
·      Excellent written, and interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.
·      Self-directed and highly organized; able to manage and prioritize tasks.
·      Demonstrated ability to build and steward relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
·      Foster an environment that is welcoming, affirming and empowering for scholars; demonstrate an unwavering commitment to racial equity.
·      Ability to work independently, performing detail-oriented tasks, including working with confidential information.
·      Excellent analytical, administrative, computer and problem-solving skills
·      Ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible, and work successfully through variable work volume.
·      Spanish speaking is a preferred.
